Cleaning Products

Its time to get down and dirty....what do you use to clean your house?

A year ago? My answer was probably whatever was in a cool bottle.

Now? I try to use organic or homemade whenever so lets break it down.

This guy is my favorite:

Kitchen:

  • Sink & Countertop: J.R. Watkins
  • Stovetop: Baking Soda & Hot rag, or Weiman's
  • Microwave: Hot water & Paper Towel
  • Fridge: Lined with Glad Press N'Seal and J.R. Watkins
  • Floor: Shark Steam Mop
  • Other Favorite Products: Mr. Clean Magic Erasers

Bathroom:

  • Countertops & Sink: J.R. Watkins
  • Toilet: Scrubbing Bubbles Disposable Toilet Cleaner
  • Shower: Method Daily Shower Spray & this Pin from Pinterst

Rest of the House:

  • We have 2 cats and a dog, so Fur Managment is big.
  • I love my swiffer for the surface
  • My dyson & Shark Steam Mop for the floors
  • A Microfiber Mop for in between
I make my own body scrub and laundry detergent. I hope in the next month or so to try my hand at making dishwasher detergent as well! I cannot say enough good things about our laundry detergent though...IF anyone is interested in getting my recipe & how I make it let me know :) I would be happy to share!

Spring Cleaning

I kind of went a little crazy.
And by crazy, I mean cleaning, scrubbing and organizing everything in sight crazy.
When I started, all of our kitchen cabinets were full.
Now?
I have 6 empty cabinets, and an empty drawer. I cannot tell you how good this feels!!

How did I do it?
I took everything out on the countertops, it looked like a HUGE disaster and then I started putting stuff back, piece by piece in a much more organized way, that was still functional for us.
This was my "baking drawer"

It had all of the toppings for cupcakes/cakes and decorating tools along with cupcake liners/wrappers & decorating.

I organized the stuff by holidays- Valentines Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas
I had another box for dye's and neutral colored sprinkles that didnt really have a "theme"
I took an old cup with a lid and put the misc. extra cupcake wrappers in the cup.

This was a quick, easy way to have a big affect on your house!

These pictures are the other small projects I did in the kitchen to help organize and spruce up the kitchen for spring!

Meal planning board, Soap holder pedastol

Next week I will have a tutorial on how to make a simple, quick, 5 minute menu planning board!

Dear Hubsy, Thank you so unbelievable much for this week. You have kept hope even when it was dismal, and held me when I needed it most. You brought me a shamrock shake at work today just so I could see you. i.love.you.too.pieces.

Dear Work, Seriously...slow down. I cannot keep up. And while you're at it, put the 8 filing cabinets away and rearrange everything and clean yourself up!

Dear Callahan, your the most adorable puppy ever and I'm sorry I havent paid much attention to you this week :(

Dear Gym, sorry for my absence, I will work on it.

Dear New bloggy friends, Stop by, say hi! Maybe there is a giveway in the future for 50 followers?!

This weekend I....

This weekend I....
Moved.

Hanging out in my parents pantry packin...nbd!

I guess not me personally, but my parents moved from the house I grew up in to a house only one mile from us, I could not be happier :)

This weekend I....
Hung out with these fabulous furry creatures.
Obviously, the brown guy is my pup. But these other two are my parent's newfoundland's. The bigger one is blind, and we affectionatly refer to him as Helen (bad joke.) but he is such a happy pup. The other one is the same age as our dog (and we think the same dad) and his mom was a newfoundland, he is as big as a newf, but he's so short :)

I am finally getting around better and was able to do 25 calf raises today which was an awesome feeling!

Moving took up most of the weekend so I didnt do much else, but I am excited for this upcoming week :)

If you're visiting from the link up, hang around there are going to be some pretty B.I.G. things happening around here VERY soon!!

Life lately...

I mentioned before that my parents & little sister are moving...this weekend we moved my sister into her new apartment! I could not be prouder of her and her boyfriend. They have the cutest apartment and I am super jealous of this piece of furniture they got...

 A comfy sack.

Seriously, I am contemplating where I can fit one in my house. Its awesome, and comfy and 100 other adjectives describing why every person should get one of these.

This week, my clutzy self...fell down the stairs and did this.

Shoot. Sprained ankle. My foot is now changing varying colors of the rainbow and I cannot see my toe joint. I affectionately refer to it as canks. There is NO sign of a ankle there...straight cankle!

Since hobbling around on crutches isnt everyone's idea of a good time...my sisters boyfriend suggested I try this. Limited edition. Holy good ice cream!! I may have eaten the whole thing in just two sittings :(

Since my best friends wedding is coming up quickly...we worked on these as possible centerpieces for her wedding..what do you think?!

This is what my to do list looks like today...here's to hoping I can hop around and finish this all up!
