What I'm Pinning!

Here is some stuff I have been loving on Pinterest this week:
Put a power strip in the top drawer of your nightstand to charge/organize/hide your electronics. *gasp*! It's the simplest ideas sometimes...
We just purchased new nightstands and I was thinking of something like this, I love that this hides everything and is non-cluttered

Bedrooms on a Budget: Our 24 Favorites. Some great ideas for bedroom decor.
Since we moved in I have been dying to paint the walls, now that we have new furniture I finally convinced Hubby this is the perfect time :) I am loving this warm dark grey

Love that dark grey wall
Another bedroom, this grey may be a little darker than I like but I still love the overall look!

bridesmaids each carry different shades of the same color flowers...ombré at a whole new level
With my best friends wedding only 6 months away, I'm trying to be the best MOH I can be and helping with all the tiny details left, so here's some ombre bouquets I thought were cute!

bridesmaids shirts... how old they were when you met, or how long you've been friends. Cute idea.
Your best friend can't get hitched without a fabulous, over the top bachelorette weekend! I found this pin where the girl's shirts are Jersey style, and the number is unique to how long each girl has known the bride...love these!

wall streamer decor...cute backdrop for pictures, present opening
This is the perfect backdrop for a shower, and something I did not even think about to make sure is the perfect photo-op for everyone!

Love simplicity!
Simple, and totally my style...more scarves!

This makes your skin look flawless in every photo you take, even without a filter!
I have heard rave reviews about this product, and I have been loving BB cream lately, this might just be my next beauty splurge!

Love my Hubby.

Baby Steps.

Things I wish I knew about a year ago: blogging. Seriously, the house we bought was in absolute shambles, and we would have had one hell of a home improvement blog! I'm still thinking of posting some of the projects we did in the future...but for now...here's what we're working on now!

Steps?
Yup. I'll paint you a picture of what our basement looked like when we bought it; 15 year old faux finish looking wallpaper graffiti over by some party going, beer drinking, teens. I take that back, they continued their artistic expression to the ceiling as well. Ok back to the stairs...they're not the walls right? Well there was also carpet, and then a thick, dirty, nasty layer of dirt-dog hair-cat hair-disgustingness that coated the entire thing, so we did what every normal person would do--we tore it out the same day we got the keys. The catch? They put carpet tiles down and we were left with sticky-icky floors. But the basement wasn't a huge priority when we first moved in, so we put it aside.
But even after scrubbing them, they still looked gross. So what to do? We thought about just painting them, we're not quite ready to put in carpet, and we don't really know what type of purpose the basement will end up serving. So I found this pin over on pinterest, and I fell in love. There were really helpful instructions over at Lovely Crafty Home and I've started this:
I covered every other stair with the brown craft paper (crinkled up & dipped in a glue-water mixture) and am waiting for it to dry. I will keep you guys updated on my progress on this, and I hope to be done soon!

Sunday Funday

So we are finally decorating our house! Here's what I managed to get into today....

Love this picture, my mom bought it for our wedding shower.

Made this Fall Decoration with decorations from the dollar store, and votives we had leftover from the wedding, and some Partylite votives.

And this little guy, just for fun, is our kitten, Gandolf. he loves to cuddle.

Happy Sunday!
