Reasons I love my husband.

Its been one of those weeks.
The kind where you just feel completly not in control of your life and you just want to be by yourself, so forgive my absence.
Life is hard sometimes.
I am trying to keep my faith and remember that everything happens for a reason, but I just wish sometimes life was easier, that everything didnt have to be hard.
Nobody said it would be easy, they said it would be worth it.
So for now, I'm swimming.
Just keep swimming Just keep swimming.

The point of this post?
My wonderful Hubby in an attempt to cheer me up, on his day off, with a terrible cold, surprised me with these bad boys:

Cork Floors.
Drool.
He spent the majority of the day working in this teeny tiny closet {that used to have ugly old gross pink carpeting from the people before us} cutting all the pieces and making it all look beautiful in this small, yet full of angles space.
There you have it.

What a guy. My over-the-top mood swings this week (I'm blaming my medicine) and crazy happenings outside our life and he doesn't run screaming the other way. I could not be luckier to have such an amazing partner to share my life with. Even the not so pretty parts.

So we havent painted the trim, hung any art work, or got anything else major in our bedroom to update, BUT this little $14.99 gem is enough to make me smile because it means I dont have to trip over the ironing board everytime I go to the bathroom.
Win.

I hope everyone has an amazing week!

Just when you think you are catching up...

When did life get so crazy?!

We are SO busy at work again...ugh.

Our poor pup callahan got fixed and now he has an infection...but he looks so cute with a cone  :)

I have been doing some major organizing and purging in our house and my parents!

Went to a fabulous bridal show and went bridesmaid dress shopping..I think we may have found a winner.

A new gym by my house opened up and I went tonight, I LOVED it!

We have been absolutely terrible at cooking  at home, but I can say for sure that I have been a lot better lately and really enjoying eating at home (and saving some bucks!)

This week I'm working on:
-Working out 4 days this week-1 down, 3 to go!
-Cook at home 4 days- not even going to lie, I had subway tonight.
-Tackle my craft room
-Organize our master bathroom

Gray-zee

I painted our bedroom.
Dark.
and I love it!

Old color on right, new color on left!

All pretty with our new sheets and walls

New dresser and handy hubby mounted our TV!

Now comes my favorite part...decorating! I am so relieved to have finally painted this room! When we bought our house it was an ugly green color, and we painted the tan bc thats what we had leftover at the time. I will admit i think it looks kind of navy blue sometimes but i still kind of like it! So thoughts on an accent color or pattern?!
Suggestions welcome.

Heres's whats left for our master bedroom:
Find & hang artwork
Hang picture frames above bed
Ikea Leaning Mirror (I hope soon!!)
New lamp shades..maybe a DIY project?!
Finish nightstands
Paint trim and woodwork
New light fixture
Hide cords to TV
New carpet...someday
maybe a cute chair

What I'm Pinning!

Here is some stuff I have been loving on Pinterest this week:
Put a power strip in the top drawer of your nightstand to charge/organize/hide your electronics. *gasp*! It's the simplest ideas sometimes...
We just purchased new nightstands and I was thinking of something like this, I love that this hides everything and is non-cluttered

Bedrooms on a Budget: Our 24 Favorites. Some great ideas for bedroom decor.
Since we moved in I have been dying to paint the walls, now that we have new furniture I finally convinced Hubby this is the perfect time :) I am loving this warm dark grey

Love that dark grey wall
Another bedroom, this grey may be a little darker than I like but I still love the overall look!

bridesmaids each carry different shades of the same color flowers...ombré at a whole new level
With my best friends wedding only 6 months away, I'm trying to be the best MOH I can be and helping with all the tiny details left, so here's some ombre bouquets I thought were cute!

bridesmaids shirts... how old they were when you met, or how long you've been friends. Cute idea.
Your best friend can't get hitched without a fabulous, over the top bachelorette weekend! I found this pin where the girl's shirts are Jersey style, and the number is unique to how long each girl has known the bride...love these!

wall streamer decor...cute backdrop for pictures, present opening
This is the perfect backdrop for a shower, and something I did not even think about to make sure is the perfect photo-op for everyone!

Love simplicity!
Simple, and totally my style...more scarves!

This makes your skin look flawless in every photo you take, even without a filter!
I have heard rave reviews about this product, and I have been loving BB cream lately, this might just be my next beauty splurge!

Love my Hubby.

Obsessed with...

Scarves!
I love wearing a comfy plain tshirt with a scarf and jeans.
It's probably my go-to outfit, and definitly what I am most comfortable in.

As I have accumulated more and more over the past few months, I was having trouble figuring out how to store them...
In a bin? They get wrinkly.
On a hanger? Not super accessible.
In a shoe organizer? Still wrinkly.
In a dresser drawer? Damnit! they are still wrinkly.
At this point I was distraught...WHERE can I keep my scarves?

We decided to use hooks like these from Ikea for our towels instead of a towel bar, so we had an extra towel bar we werent using!

First I tried out my scarves while it was still on the wall in the bathroom...and I loved it!
Handy Hubby put this up in our closet and it is my favorite part of the closet!
Scarves not wrinkly? Check.
Scarves easily accesible? Check.
See all my options at once? Check.

Now I have somewhere to put all of my new scarves wonderful people got me for christmas!

For anyone wondering...The rest of our closet looks like this.
I got the idea to paint our closet blue from Veronika's Blushing
And the chandelier is from Ikea

New Years Resolutions

I can honestly say 2012 was a pretty darn good year. So 2013...what do you have in store? What I would like...
{[Me]}
Remember who I want to be, and be that woman.
Pray everyday what I am thankful for, not just what I need
       Be more organized
       Be more patient.
Realize what I can change, and what I cannot

{[House]}
       New countertop island
       New barstools for island
       Carpeting upstairs
       Carpeting downstairs
       Paint our master bedroom
Buy & redo dressers for our master...we bought these @ ikea yesterday :)
Make a guest bedroom w/new craft table
New furniture for our family room
Little fence to hide garbage cans
       Paint front door
       General organization
....and perhaps turning our coat closet into a mudroom nook?!

{[Husband and Wife]}
       Spend more time together
Work together on developing a cleaning schedule
Grocery shop together (this helps us stay on budget better)
       Pray together more
       Go to church together more
Keep moving in the same positive direction of 2012

{[Health & Fitness]}
       Yoga/Pilates
Go to gym 3 times a week

I don't want to get to crazy with resolutions because we also have one other pretty big goal for 2013, but its not a resolution. I'm still not brave enough to post about it on my blog, but maybe soon :)

Don't forget to follow me on instagram @crawifey for a look into what happens in the everyday life :)

January!

2013
Bring it.
We.are.so.ready.

I will recap 2012 in another post, but todays post?
No spend January.

Thats right.
Aside from essentials, we are taking a break from spending.
No Target, Home Depot, Old Navy, Marshalls, Tjmaxx or mall. No Ulta.
WHY?!

We did this last year and we found several hundred dollars (YIKES!) between eating out and all those after christmas clearance sales, it adds up quick. Last year I banned myself from Target which was one of the hardest things ever. This year I am making an exception for target because they have some GREAT coupon deals and sales!

The goal besides the obvious is to stop obsessing about the next decor item, next home improvement project, the next outfit, and stop and be thankful for what we do have
Sometimes our houses get filled with things, and I am ready to do some reorganizing and purging!

wow. i definitely need to spend more time being grateful.
So time to dust off those projects you have everything for but tucked away in the closet. Time to go home after work instead of Hobby Lobby and Target just to "see what they have". This month I promise to love my house and not spend any money :)

xoxo
